Aquaterra Ecological Society is a NGO which aims to protect biodiversity within in Romania. Under the guidance and leadership of Professor Nicolae Craciun, Aquaterra have fought to protect rare species of fish in Romania which are under threat. Their goal is to develop projects to save species of fauna and flora, and to raise awareness and and education for environmental protection.
At their Research Station for Biodiversity and Conservation in Frasin, Romania, Nicolae and his team have established a farm where sturgeon are bred and grown. These fish are used as a breeding stock. This facility is a primary area for the work that ABAWARE is undertaking.
Aquaterra are involved in WP2, WP3, WP4 and WP5.
