The department of limnology at Dresden University of Technology, headed by Professor Thomas Berendonk, is responsible for the complex studies in the aquatic ecology, including evolution of antibiotic resistances in anthropogenic influenced aquatic systems. The department has strong positions in fields of aquatic ecotoxicology, molecular Evolution, limnology and ecological modelling as well as stream ecology.  The TUD team was previously involved with a number of ABAWARE partners in the ‘StARE’ project which focused on stopping antibiotic resistance evolution in European wastewater.

The main roles and responsibilities of the TUD team will be: WP4 – resistome and microbiome analysis.
